The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) is a government-owned coal mining company. Incorporated on December 23, 1920, SCCL operates 13 open-pit and 42 underground mines and employs about 78,000 people.

Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) :

KCM, an integrated copper producer, is a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources Plc, a London-listed diversified FTSE 100 metals and mining group with operations in India, Australia, Namibia, South Africa, Ireland and Zambia. KCM operates two mines at Nchanga, comprising an underground mine and four open pits, the Nchanga Smelter, Konkola Mine, Nkana Refinery and the Nampundwe pyrite mine.
